Henry Yablonski Jr.

76, died July 12, 2018

Born October 18, 1941, Henry grew up in Plymouth, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Anna and Henry Yablonski Sr. He graduated from Plymouth High School with honors and attended Lafayette College on a full scholarship. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa honor society and earned a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (1963). He began working for Bell Laboratories in Murray Hill, New Jersey while earning a Master’s degree in electrical engineering from New York University (1966). As he continued at AT&T, his work in satellites took him to interesting locations around the world. In 1997, after over 35 years of service and six continents visited, he retired. Henry then worked at Loral Skynet in Bedminster until his retirement in 2005. For over forty years, Henry resided in Bridgewater, New Jersey. He was a parishioner of Church of the Holy Trinity and a member of the Holy Name Society. For many years, Henry was active in the Somerville Knights of Columbus Council 1432 where he served as a past Grand Knight and was a 4th degree member of the George Washington Assembly. Throughout his life, he enjoyed photography and was especially passionate about all electronics (and could fix just about anything). Recently, he and Margaret, his loving wife of 52 years, relocated to their house in Long Beach Island. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by family. He will be fondly remembered.

Henry is survived by his wife Margaret, three daughters Karen Noll (Allen), Janet Lunny (Michael), and Diane Diefenbacher (Joseph), and seven granddaughters Jenna, Nicole, Emily, Jenny, Alison, Kate, and Eva.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 22 from 3-7 pm at the Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave, Somerville.

Mass will be Monday, July 23 at 10:30 am at Church of the Holy Trinity, 60 Maple St., Bridgewater. Interment will be at a later date at St. John's Cemetery in Exeter, Pennsylvania.

Donations can be made to St. Francis of Assisi Food Pantry, 4700 Long Beach Blvd, Long Beach Township, NJ 08008.
