Howard Carmine Stamato passed peacefully at the age of 91 on Tuesday, July 3, 2018. He was married to the love of his life Caroline, who he met at age 9, and passed at the age of 72 in 1999. Howard was a World War II Veteran, and bought a house in Lodi, NJ, the town he was born in, after the war. In 1963, the family moved to Old Tappan, NJ. Howard was a self-made business man owning and running two companies. He retired to Sussex County, NJ in the early 90’s, but remained active as a consultant until 1999.
Howard is survived by his beloved cat Ray, son Howard Joseph, daughter Caroline Mary, their spouses Tina and Tom, and six grandchildren: William son of Howard and Tina, and Caroline’s children Athan, Stefan, Balin, Kaestin, and Margaret.
Prayers will be said 9am Saturday at Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave, Somerville, followed by a 10am mass at St. Bernard RC Church, Bridgewater. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Newton, NJ.
Visitation will be 7-9pm Friday at the funeral home.
