Richard C. “Dickey” Fiedler

78, died September 7, 2019.

Dickey was born in Somerville and was a life-long resident of Raritan. A 1959 graduate of Somerville High School, he worked for Bridgewater Department of Public Works for 30 years, retiring in 1996. Dickey was a veteran of the United States army serving in the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Joseph RC Church in Raritan. He enjoyed traveling to Amish Country in PA, was a sprint car racing fan, and was an avid NY Yankee and NY Giants fan as well. Dickey will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

He is predeceased by parents Emil and Mary (Yenik) Fielder, his brother Emil Fiedler Jr. and his sister Barbara Huang.

Surviving are his brothers Robert and Kenneth (wife Karyn), and six nieces and nephews John, Kathleen, Susan, Jill, Andrew, and Jennifer.

Prayers will be 8:15am Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave, Somerville followed by a 9am mass at St. Joseph RC Church, 16 E. Somerset Street, Raritan. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater.

Visitation will be 2-4pm and 7-9pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
