88, March 5, 1929-December 1, 2017.

Robert was born in Elizabeth, NJ and later lived in Linden, NJ and Branchburg Township, NJ before moving to Hillsborough, NJ. He graduated from Somerville H.S., NJ. He worked at his father's and own dairy farm, RCA, Amerman's, Scudder's, Equitable, Ortho, A&P and ADESA. He was a combat veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War at Heartbreak Ridge as Sergeant First Class in charge of mortar fire. Robert was a member and leader of Somerset County 4H clubs, the Hillsborough VFW and the South Branch Reformed Church. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, wine making and hunting. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

He was predeceased by his brother Gerald McCray and sister Loretta McCray.

Surviving is his wife Kathryn Ann (Rolph) McCray, three daughters, Bonnie Berstler, Cynthia Sheridan and Pamela Evans, son Stuart McCray, sister Virginia Conover and eight grandchildren James, Amanda, Emily, Katelyn, Megan, Matthew, Jacob and Justin and one great grandson Benjamin.

Memorial Services will be 5pm Sunday December 17, 2017 at the South Branch Reformed Church 870 River Rd, Hillsborough, NJ. Arrangements by the Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 No. Gaston Ave. Somerville, NJ
