Jeff was born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey and formerly of Somerville before moving to Bridgewater in 1975. He graduated from Somerville High School class of 1959. Jeff received his BA degree in Sociology in 1963 from Haverford College and his JD degree from New York University School of Law in 1966. Jeff practiced law in Somerville for over 51 years. He was a member of the Somerset County Bar Association and New Jersey State Bar Association.
In his early years, Jeff was involved with the Jaycees, serving as local chapter President, State Legal Counsel, State President and National Vice President. He was a JCI Senator. Jeff was also a 50-year member of Solomon's Lodge #46, which is now the Raritan Valley Lodge #46 F&AM, and a Past Grand Tall Cedar of So-Ra-Bo Forrest #48.
Jeff was a lifelong tennis and squash player, a member of Westfield Tennis Club, Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club, and was instrumental in establishing and serving as a past president of the Northern New Jersey Squash Racquets Association. He was also a member of the Log Cabin Gun Club and Olde Barn Gun Club. Jeff was also a member of St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Bridgewater. In his spare time Jeff was an avid hunter, enjoyed traveling and photography. Jeff will be sadly missed by all.
Surviving are his wife Karen of 23 years, two sons Frank J. Stanley IV and wife Jill and Richard J. Stanley and wife Heidi, and one granddaughter Lindsey Hope Stanley.
Funeral services will be 8:30 pm Sunday at the Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave, Somerville. Interment will be held at Moravian Cemetery in New Foundland, Pennsylvania.
Visitation will be 2-4pm and 7-9 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
