Connie was born in 1925 and formerly of Staten Island. He dropped out of high school at the age of 17 to enlist in the US Army. He served under General Patton during World War II. He received his High School diploma in 2006 and was very proud of this achievement. Prior to that, he was an active member of the Royal Blues Drum and Bugle Corps. Connie was one of the original organizers of the Staten Island Thunderbird drum and bugle corps. He also worked for Proctor and Gamble for many years before retiring in 1990. Conrad will be remembered for his bright smile and love of life and will be sadly missed by all.
Connie is predeceased in death by his son Conrad Jr. in 1971 and his siblings, Elizabeth Erkman, Irene Priester, and Ronald Feist.
Connie is survived by "the love of his life" of 36 years married, Joanna (Skontrianos), his daughter Jacqueline Johnston and 3 grandchildren, Derek, Kristen, and Anna, and also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:30am Wednesday at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Piscataway with a visitation beginning at 9am. Arrangements by Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave, Somerville.
