James F. "Jim" King

78, died June 13, 2017.

Jim was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia and lived in Lambertville before moving to Raritan Township in 1964. He received his Bachelor's degree in music from Michigan State and his Masters degree from the University of Milwaukee. He began his career as a school teacher at South Hunterdon High School and then taught at Bridgewater-Raritan Regional High School for 39 years, retiring in 2004. He was a member of the Hunterdon Choral Union, the Folk Project acoustic music and dance Organization, and the Delaware Valley poets. He always enjoyed listening to music, hiking, canoeing, contra and swing dancing and he was very proud of his published poetry. Jim will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Surviving are his son David King a daughter Karin Franke, sister Shirley Jabas and a granddaughter Kendra.

Services will be private. Arrangements by Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave, Somerville.
