91, of Yarmouth Port, MA, formally of Hillsborough, NJ, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on May 12, 2018 at Cape Cod Hospital.

Regina was born in Brooklyn, NY, on December 24, 1926 and resided and attended school in Brooklyn. After graduating secretarial school, she began a career as a legal secretary for a Wall Street law firm. Regina married the love of her life, Thomas J. Hourigan, in 1948. The couple resided in Manhattan before moving to Hillsborough in 1956, after the birth of their fourth child. Regina and Tom spent many happy years together, vacationing every summer at the Jersey shore and traveling throughout the United States and abroad. When the children were older, Regina returned to work and was employed by Ortho Pharmaceuticals. In retirement, Regina and Tom took up golf, which she continued to play after Tom’s death in 1993. Regina was a member of the Somerset County, NJ Green Knoll and Spooky Brook (past president) 18 Hole Golf Leagues for many years, and continued to play golf until the age of 87. Regina was also a lifelong bridge player, and loved playing cards and board games, as well as Words with Friends on her iPad.

Regina is survived by her five children, Eileen (Richard) Finnerty of Yarmouth Port, MA, Teresa (Edward) Terrenzi of North Hutchinson Island, FL and Brewster, MA, Thomas M. Hourigan of Stafford, TX, Joan (Gary) Trimble of West Barnstable, MA, and Patricia (Kevin) Reigstad of Bedford, NH. Regina is also survived by her beloved grandsons Liam, Rory, and Daniel Trimble, and many nieces and nephews. Regina cherished her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be 8:30am Thursday, May 24, 2018 with prayer services at 9:30 AM at the Bruce C. Van Arsdale Funeral Home, 111 No. Gaston Ave, Somerville, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am at St. Bernard Church in Bridgewater, NJ. Entombment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery.
