Obituary

With great sadness and unending love we announce the unexpected passing of Susan Rose Wolkofsky after a brief illness, at the age of 73.

Susan will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 51 years, Allan; children Matt Wolkofsky (Andrea), Evan Wolkofsky (Robyn), Robyn Henne (Jay); grandchildren Ethan, Ella, Brooke, Ryan, Jessica, Ash, Zach and Brooke; mother-in-law Shirley Wolkofsky; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws Lewis and Karen Wolkofsky, Michael and Vicky Wolkofsky; her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephew; many extended family and friends, near and far.

Susan was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Hannah and Michael Shevack. She graduated from Lafayette High School and attended Kingsboro Community College in Brooklyn, where she met Allan who immediately noticed her watercolor-blue eyes. Susan and Allan married December 28, 1968.

The couple eventually moved to Rockaway, NJ making lifelong friends and a loving home for their three children in White Meadow Lake. They later moved to Parsippany, NJ where Susan had a successful career working for 19 years as a telemarketing supervisor at Champion Mortgage.

Her greatest joys included visiting her children at college, cheering for the NY Jets as a season ticket holder, and for the last 17 years spoiling and bragging about her eight grandchildren. Allan and Susan enjoyed traveling including trips to Israel, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Italy. Their 50th anniversary was celebrated with a very special trip, a surprise Thanksgiving weekend in New York City with their children and grandchildren.

Susan lived a full life, loving everyone in her path, but it will never be enough time for those who loved her. A virtual service was followed by a private internment for immediate family on July 23 at Beth Israel Cemetary in Woodbridge, NJ. Arrangements by Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, Somerville. Memorials can be made in Susan's name to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
